Officially named the Washington Street Lift Bridge, it's better known as the Adams Basin Lift Bridge. These lift bridges are very common on the western Erie Canal. Hail the bridge on Marine Channel 13 as "Adams Basin Lift Bridge".

When the bridge is up, it provides about 15 ¼ feet clearance over the water. The operator of this bridge also operates the Union Street Lift Bridge in Spencerport. If you observe the boater's speed limit, there will be enough time for the operator to drive to the other bridge before you arrive there.
