Moses Kill Aqueduct - Old Champlain Canal Fort Edward, NY |
|
Seen across a swampy area of the Moses Kill creek are the remains of the Moses Kill Aqueduct. Built around 1862 as part of the "enlarged" version of the Champlain Canal. The area of the old aqueduct is surrounded by dense woods and honeysuckle.
When the aqueduct was in use, there was a hamlet called Moses Kill near here, and the schoolteacher there was Susan B. Anthony in her younger days.
