Enlarged Erie Canal Lock 54 in Lock Berlin, near Lyons NY, is located in a nicely shaded park. Because the lock is partly flooded, it is not readily accessible except for the south side. This view shows the lower end (east end) of the lock. This was an 8 foot lift lock, built 1841.

This view shows the original lower end of the lock, and the wall continuing to the right is the extended north chamber which was added in 1888.
