Old Champlain Canal Lock 14 is located in a secluded section of woods near Patterson Road, off Route 4 in the south end of Fort Edward near Moses Kill.

This lock was part of the 1862 Enlarged Champlain Canal. Now the walls are grown over with a very nice crop of moss.

Instead of the usual sloping ends of the walls, this lock has these rounded ends. It's quite different from other locks in this area.

This view of the gate recess shows signs of having been altered at some point.

The gate sill was built in several levels and is starting to fall apart.
